My name is Charis Phelps and I grew up in a small town near Beaumont, Texas. Currently, I live in Nacogdoches, Texas where I attend Stephen F. Austin State University. There I am earning a B.S. in Mass Communications emphasis in Radio and TV with a minor in Sports Business. Within my studies, I have run multiple television productions as well as worked a radio shift weekly. Meanwhile, I have a job with the SFA Football program in which I help run recruit weekends, team events, manage equipment, and provide media content. From November 2019- November 2020, I worked as a content creator for the SFA Athletics (Football, Women's and Men's Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Track, Soccer, Beach Volleyball, Volleyball, Bowling, and Tennis) media department. Also, on the side, I am a contributing photographer and sports writer for the university's newspaper. During the summer of 2020, I had an internship with the Brazos Valley Bombers(Texas Collegiate Baseball Team) in Bryan, Texas. There I worked under Uri Geva and Samantha Nelson. During the season I assisted in running the broadcast, podcast, and provided content for social media platforms. Also, I had the honor of being the team mascot "Kaboom" for one of the games! All of these experiences as well as my studies have helped me gain the skills and connections needed to become a social media assistant or manager for a team!
