Food

Food has always been a part of my life. Not because I love eating, but the cuisine is an art. The culture along with the history behind each dish is fascinating. When I was little my future career consisted of being a chef in Galveston, Texas. Now since I am older my career path has changed, but a dream of mine is to own a restaurant or bakery of my own. I am addicted to watching baking shows and trying any new food. My absolute favorite about food is trying foreign meals I have never tried before. The exotic tastes and culture in each bite keep me craving the next new dish. Below are dishes I have come across with descriptions of history, ingredients, and where you can find these amazing meals.

Swamp Cakes

Boudreaux's Cajun Grill

While driving back from Walt Disney World in Florida, we stopped in Daphne, Alabama for the night. My uncle had suggested Boudreaux's Cajun Grill because he has had it before and said it was good. Of course, I am always open to trying Cajun food considering I have grown up eating it. Once getting the menu one of the dishes that stood out to me was "Swamp Cakes." This consists of "Golden-fried housemade boudin cakes topped with rich Crab and Spinach Cream Sauce." When I ordered this dish I kept in mind this was an appetizer, but it did fill me up. The meal smelt fishy, that was because of the crab smell. When eating it you for sure can taste the crab. It was almost too strong of a taste and cakes were a little dry. Besides these two characteristics, I would be open to trying it again. The restaurant had a good atmosphere since it was on the East side of Mobile Bay, but the menu was pricy.
